Mine has arrived this morning, but I don't have a suitable cutter yet...   ::)

Just wondering instead of using mesh could you slip a small piece of ekowool over the top. I know it may be hard to thread on getting caught but would it work? Answers on a post card...or here if you prefer

Completed the aga last night, seems ok, wicking very well. Got a nasty cold at mo and have absolutely no taste at all so can't report on flavour. Have some 2mm ekowool so will have a go at using it as a sleeve today...if it fits it's going to be the fastest, easiest wick.

I finally got to trying some after managing to cut a piece off with rubbish pliers - don't worry though, it only took about an hour, lol - anyways, got it in a friend's AC9 Genesis atomiser and this stuff has transformed it from being a good atomiser into being a great one...!!!  Wicking is insane and one tip for you guys is to have the wick only going halfway down into the tank, and not all the way to the bottom, as this stuff really does wick like crazy...  the great thing is though, especially in an atty like the AC9, is that all that juice at the coil doesn't half make your Gennie churn out thick clouds of rich vapour, and stunning flavour too...  :)

Got to agree with everyone so far, Ive got 2mm 7x7 in my AC9 with some 400 mesh approx 15x10mm wrapped around the top, and its wicking away just the thing, flavour is absolutely spot on, no mesh taste which is odd considering the mesh is there, vapour is thick and nice and warm, bought some 2.5mm 7x7 7x19 and 1x19 to test out, dont know when they will arrive.
I did buy the 3mm 7x7, but boy oh boy thats some thick stuff, it fills the wick hole on the AC9 so its a big 3mm and didnt work that well hence the reason for buying 2.5mm.
Still needs a gentle tilt, but its way more natural than before, a quick tip every now and then gets it all nice soaking, very rarely needs it though - Does flood too easy, but probably because its 2mm in a 3.5mm hole

Did try some 2mm Ekowool over the 2mm rope, and got a god awful taste from it, not sure what it is but its enough to put me off trying that again..One thing im looking at trying is the method that Riptrippers uses on his mesh wicks with the cotton strands, that in theory would work flawlessly on the wire rope.

Well, I bit the proverbial bullet and ordered a couple of meters of 2.5mm 7x7 and a cutter.

The 2.5mm should fit all three DIDs though it'll be a bit loose in the D20. I'll give it a go.

You want decent quality cutters for this stuff...  it's harder than Mike Tyson ever was...!!!

I see you're all talking about 7x7 SS wire rope.

I thought, from what I read, that the 7x19 - 2 and 2.5mm was the way to go?

Anyone tried that yet? I ask, because I'm awaiting delivery of both sizes in 7x19  :)
